這一年上的英文科，老師教導的主題是有關 “自由”。
課程中看了「甘地傳」和 「昂山素姬」這兩套電影，也聽了一些觸動心靈的歌曲，尤其 “爸爸” 這首歌，簡單的歌詞卻能道盡了人夫妻情、父子情。
對於心靈的質素有很大程度的提昇，看電影的環節，有很多令我感動的場面，尤其甘地和昂山素姬為了追求民主而作出的種種犧性，不得不令人動容及反思生命的意義。
自由是一個政治哲學的概念，它包括了各國憲法規定的言論信息自由和新聞自由，還有諸多的自由意志，例如思想自由、宗教信仰自由......等等，學術上存在對自由概念的不同見解，在對個人與社會的關係認識上也有所不同，這裡還有人類很大的反思空間。
於此大大提升了我對此課程的興趣，英文方面在閱讀和聆聽是有了一些進步，但寫作一向都是我比較弱的一環，這是源於我自小對英文有些抗拒之故，而且在我接觸的層面中也甚少用到英文，所以對於寫作上還是要多多努力。謝謝老師費盡心思的安排和教導。感恩! 感恩!
The topic that the lecturer has taught us in the English class this year is about "freedom".
In the class, we have seen “Gandhi” and “The Lady”. We have also listened to a number of songs that touch our heart. The song "Papa", with simple lyrics but effective expressions for the loves among husband and wife, father and son, is especially impressive. They significantly enhanced the quality of my soul.
Through the appreciation of the films, scenes like their sacrifices for the pursuit of democracy of Gandhi and Aung San Suu Kyi moved me a lot and inspired me to have a reflection to the meaning of life.
Liberty is a concept in the philosophy of politics, it includes the freedom of speech and information, freedom of press as well as free wills such as the free mind and freedom of religious belief etc. They are all prescribed by the constitution of many countries. Academically, there is a dispersion in the view of freedom and hence a different understanding on individuals and society, which implies a great reflection to human.

This greatly increases my interest to this course. My English reading and listening skills are improved, but writing is my weakness, this is probably due to my resist to English since I was young. Also, I seldom use English in usual life. Therefore I need to pay more efforts here.
